Create accurate electrical drawings and supporting documentation for power, control and industrial automation panels.
Role Description
The Design Engineer will translate inputs from the design manager into clear electrical drawings and production-ready documentation. The role covers schematics, layouts, general arrangements, single-line diagrams and the supporting schedules required for a range of electrical panels.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft schematics, layouts, general arrangements and single-line diagrams for power and control panels, variable-frequency-drive panels and soft-starter panels.
- Prepare drawings for automatic power-factor-correction panels, intelligent motor-control centres and PLC-based automation panels.
- Use AutoCAD and EPLAN to produce accurate drawings based on inputs from the design manager.
- Prepare terminal-block charts and ferruling schedules using standard office productivity tools.
- Create nameplate details and related drawing documentation in AutoCAD.
- Submit daily progress reports to the reporting manager and complete other relevant design work assigned by management.
Requirements
- Practical ability to draft electrical schematics, layouts, general arrangements and single-line diagrams.
- Working proficiency with AutoCAD and EPLAN.
- Familiarity with power, control, drive, motor-control and PLC automation panels.
- Ability to prepare precise terminal, ferruling and nameplate documentation.
- A structured approach to following design inputs, reporting progress and maintaining drawing accuracy.
