Lead technically robust and commercially competitive proposals for complex industrial automation and control-system projects.
Role Description
The Proposal Manager will lead bidding and estimation activities that connect engineering requirements with commercial outcomes. You will interpret complex requests for quotation, design suitable control-system architectures, build detailed estimates and coordinate stakeholders through a high-quality proposal process.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end preparation of technical and commercial proposals, ensuring every requirement, specification and deadline is addressed.
- Evaluate requests for quotation and design scalable, cost-efficient control-system architectures.
- Estimate hardware, input/output counts, panels, networking, software licensing and engineering effort in detail.
- Coordinate with equipment suppliers and sub-vendors to obtain competitive pricing and maintain technical alignment with the project scope.
- Identify technical and commercial bid risks and develop practical mitigation strategies.
- Partner with sales, engineering and procurement teams to support a smooth handover from proposal development to project execution.
Requirements
- 10+ years of core experience in industrial automation and control systems.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of widely used industrial PLC and control-system engineering platforms.
- Deep understanding of PLC, SCADA, HMI and industrial networking protocols including Profinet, Ethernet/IP and Modbus.
- Proven ability to create persuasive technical narratives and present complex proposals to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership and remain solution-focused during tight bid deadlines.
Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in instrumentation, electronics, electrical engineering or a related discipline.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Power-plant automation experience across balance-of-plant, turbine-control or control-and-instrumentation systems.
- Awareness of emerging Industry 4.0 and industrial IoT technologies.
